Hey Delegates,
I recommend this article for those in the Human Rights Committee and the High Commissioner for Refugees. It's an insightful account of the life of Iraqi refugees in an unstable region. Keep in mind that the conditions described in the article may be universal to all refugees; conditions for civilians may be equal, or worse, in places like Darfur, Palestine and Afghanistan.
It's good not to forget the human individual when discussing a topic during a simulation; always try to imagine that your decisions and votes in the UN will be affecting the lives of all of these civilians. The balance between the need for enacting practical policy and the desire to save them all must be carefully observed lest you pass a resolution that will simply worsen the living conditions of these people.
